TPC Craig Ranch’s outstanding championship layout ranks among the top private golf courses in the United States according to Golf Digest. TPC Craig Ranch’s golf course was designed by PGA TOUR legend and architect Tom Weiskopf. The par-72, 7,438-yard golf course features the beautiful, gently rolling hills and mature woods surrounding the limestone banks of Rowlett Creek. PGA TOUR player D.A. Weibring served as a consultant on the golf course design. The golf course has lush Zoysia fairways and Bentgrass greens. Breathtaking Rowlett Creek crosses the course 14 times, creating a stunning backdrop for an inspiring test of golf.

Though rated among the toughest golf courses in Texas, five sets of tees on each hole enable golfers of all abilities to enjoy the subtle nuances and distinct design elements that have brought Weiskopf recognition as one of the country’s most respected designers. The course played host to the 2008 Nationwide Tour Championship, the pinnacle event on the Nationwide Tour and the 2012 Web.com Tour Championship.

Tom Weiskopf Design – TPC Craig Ranch Architect

Prior to forming Tom Weiskopf Designs, where he has established himself as one of the most respected golf course designers in the world, Tom Weiskopf enjoyed stellar careers on both the PGA TOUR and PGA TOUR Champions (formerly the Senior PGA TOUR). He turned professional in 1964 following his graduation from Ohio State University, and won his first PGA TOUR tournament, the Andy Williams-San Diego Open, in 1968. Acknowledged as having one of the best golf swings of any pro golfer in the world, Weiskopf went on to win 16 PGA TOUR events, five international titles and five Senior tournaments, including the British Open at Royal Troon in 1973 – the year Golf Magazine named him “Player of the Year.” He was also a member of the 1973 and 1975 U.S. Ryder Cup teams.

With experience playing many of the best courses in the world, Weiskopf established his own design firm in 1994. Since then, he has designed more than 40 acclaimed golf courses world-wide, 25 of them with Jay Morrish. Together, Weiskopf and Morrish formed a prolific design team, creating many courses that still rank among the top courses worldwide, including Forest Highlands Golf Club (Canyon) in Flagstaff, AZ and Double Eagle in Galena, OH, both currently ranked by Golf Digest among “America’s Greatest 100 Courses for 2007-2008”; Troon Golf & Country Club and Troon North (Monument) near Weiskopf’s home in Scottsdale, AZ; Broken Top in Bend, OR; and many others. Weiskopf has also left an indelible mark overseas, where his course design projects include Loch Lomond northwest of Glasgow, Scotland, which Weiskopf considers his “lasting memorial to golf.”
